What your GE oven or range is telling you

Fault codes for GE, GE Profile and Café ranges and wall ovens with electronic oven controls, per GE’s general fault-code article. GE notes it cannot list every code for past and present models, and most F-codes require a trained technician.

That code isn’t on this list. It may be specific to your model, so call or text me at (480) 292-4746 with the code and model number.

F0

Usually indicates a problem with the keypanel (touch control), which often needs to be replaced.

Try this first: Turn off the circuit breaker or fuse for the range/wall oven for a minute or two, then restore power; if the code returns, call me. GE recommends leaving the breaker off until it’s repaired (it may be switched on just to use the surface units).

Bad Line

Power is reaching the unit but it has not been wired correctly.

Try this first: Contact an installer or electrician to correct the mis-wire; the oven will then work normally.

LOC

Child Lockout is on, which prevents the oven from being turned on accidentally.

Try this first: See the owner’s manual for your model for how to turn Control Lockout off.

Loc Door

Flashing LOC DOOR when self-clean has not been selected means the controls need to be reset.

Try this first: Follow GE’s ‘Range & Wall Oven – “LOC DOOR” Flashes in the Display’ reset article; a breaker reset for a minute or two may also clear it.

Unlock Door

The oven door will not unlock after a self-clean cycle.

Try this first: Follow GE’s ‘Range – Oven Door Won’t Unlock’ article to reset the controls.

ERR

An invalid entry was made when setting the oven controls.

Try this first: Re-enter the setting correctly.

OFF

The oven is too hot to start self-clean, or to bake/broil shortly after a self-clean cycle has ended.

Try this first: Let the oven cool down longer and try again.

⊃

A backwards ‘C’ in the display means the oven is set to Sabbath Mode.

Normal function indicator, not a fault.

When to call me

If the safe check doesn’t clear the code, or the same code keeps coming back, the oven or range needs a real diagnosis. Error codes point to the system that failed, not always the exact part, so I test before I replace anything.

Never open panels, bypass a safety switch or work on gas or wiring yourself. Unplug the appliance or turn off its breaker if you smell burning or see water near electrical parts.

Upfront pricing

$65

Service call, waived when you approve the repair. You get an exact price before any work starts.

Stacked washer and dryer units have a $125 service call, also waived with the repair.

Where These Codes Come From

I checked every code on this page against GE’s own documentation on October 18, 2026, and left out any code I couldn’t confirm there. Meanings can differ between models and model years, so your owner’s manual or the tech sheet inside your oven or range has the final word for your exact model.
