What your Bosch oven or range is telling you
Bosch US ranges, wall ovens and cooktops; codes vary by product line: F-codes and dE are for induction/electric cooktops and slide-in induction ranges, lowercase e-codes (e005, e101, etc.) are from Bosch’s freestanding range page, and wall ovens generally show ‘E’ plus a number for electronics faults.
That code isn’t on this list. It may be specific to your model, so call or text me at (480) 292-4746 with the code and model number.
E (with a number) + beeping
An electronics fault has occurred.
Try this first: Press any button to stop the beeping and reset the oven if necessary; if the code keeps appearing, call me.
Slide-in ranges and wall ovens.
dE
Demo mode is on; the cooking zones will not heat.
Try this first: Switch off the breaker for 30 seconds, then touch any control within 3 minutes of restoring power.
Induction/electric cooktops and slide-in ranges.
U400
The supply voltage is incorrect (outside the normal range).
Try this first: Contact your electric utility, or call me.
E9000
The supply voltage is incorrect (outside the normal range).
Also shown as E9010
Try this first: Contact your electric utility, or call me.
E9011
The appliance is not connected properly (on cooktops it may also mean incorrect supply voltage).
Bosch’s fix is to reconnect per the circuit diagram, which is a job for a qualified installer or electrician.
F1
The cooking zone has overheated and switched off to protect the countertop.
Also shown as F6
Try this first: Let it cool down, then switch the cooking zone back on.
F2
The electronics have overheated and the cooking zone has switched off (F4: all zones on some cooktops).
Also shown as F4, E7015
Try this first: Wait until the electronics cool, then touch any control; you can cook again once the message disappears.
On cooktops Bosch also groups E7015, E8207 and E8208 with this; on gas cooktops F2/F4/F5 with ignition not working means electronics overheated – turn burners off or to minimum until cooled.
F5
Hot cookware is near the control panel; the electronics are at risk of overheating (with a signal tone the zone switches off).
Try this first: Move the cookware away from the control panel, wait a few seconds, then touch any control.
F8
Automatic time limit: a cooking zone ran for a long time with no interaction and switched off.
Try this first: Touch any control, then set the cooking zone again.
May show with H/h.
E7010
The cooktop cannot connect to your home network or to the hood.
Try this first: Switch the cooktop off and on; if the message returns, call me with the exact code.
e005
Communication failure between the user interface and the power board.
Try this first: Turn the range off at the circuit breaker, wait five minutes, then turn it back on; if the problem persists, call me.
Freestanding ranges.
e011
Touch sensor failure on the oven control panel.
Try this first: Clean and dry the control panel, then turn the range off at the breaker for five minutes and back on; if it persists, call Bosch.

Try this first: Cancel Self Clean, wait for the door to unlock and start Self Clean again; if it persists, call Bosch.
Freestanding ranges.
e302
The power board has overheated.
Freestanding ranges; Bosch says this needs a technician. Note lowercase e302 and uppercase E302 have different meanings on Bosch’s page.
E302
The control panel has overheated.
Try this first: Check the room temperature and the position of pots (they can heat the panel), let the range cool, then turn it off at the breaker for five minutes and back on; call Bosch if it persists.

Try this first: Dry the control panel or remove the object.
Cooktops.
When to call me
If the safe check doesn’t clear the code, or the same code keeps coming back, the oven or range needs a real diagnosis. Error codes point to the system that failed, not always the exact part, so I test before I replace anything.
Never open panels, bypass a safety switch or work on gas or wiring yourself. Unplug the appliance or turn off its breaker if you smell burning or see water near electrical parts.

Stacked washer and dryer units have a $125 service call, also waived with the repair.
Where These Codes Come From
I checked every code on this page against Bosch’s own documentation on October 18, 2026, and left out any code I couldn’t confirm there. Meanings can differ between models and model years, so your owner’s manual or the tech sheet inside your oven or range has the final word for your exact model.
