What your LG dishwasher is telling you
Codes from the LG owner’s manual MFL71917404 (Rev.01, 2022), which covers LDT779*, LDP679*, LDP567*, LDT566* and LDPN676* models. Other LG dishwasher series may use different or additional codes.

IE
There is a water inlet problem: the dishwasher is not getting water.
Try this first: Make sure the house water supply to the dishwasher is turned on, and check that the water inlet hose is not clogged, kinked or frozen.
OE
There is a drainage problem.
Try this first: Check that the drain hose is not clogged, kinked or frozen, clean the dishwasher filters, and clear the air gap or garbage disposal. On a new installation, make sure the disposal’s knockout plug was removed.
bE
Too many suds, usually from the wrong detergent (such as hand dish soap). An unlevel dishwasher can also cause it.
Try this first: Use only automatic-dishwasher detergent and make sure the dishwasher is level. To clear the code, turn the dishwasher off and start a new cycle.
Heavily foamy food soil, such as whipped cream, can also trigger it.
AE
Water leakage was detected.
Try this first: Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher and call me.
While AE is active, the dishwasher beeps for 10 seconds and runs the drain pump on and off. It powers itself back on until the error is resolved.
FE
Too much water was supplied.

HE
The heater circuit has failed.

When to call me
If the safe check doesn’t clear the code, or the same code keeps coming back, the dishwasher needs a real diagnosis. Error codes point to the system that failed, not always the exact part, so I test before I replace anything.
Never open panels, bypass a safety switch or work on gas or wiring yourself. Unplug the appliance or turn off its breaker if you smell burning or see water near electrical parts.
